What are we going to see on this tour?

We’ve compiled a database of over 200 movie scenes from more than 100 movies filmed in San Francisco. Visit our “What You’ll See” page for more details.

This is the only city tour you will need to take in San Francisco.  We visit all the major neighborhoods in the City, including Fisherman’s Wharf, North Beach, Nob Hill, Union Square, Civic Center, Alamo Square, Haight/Ashbury, Golden Gate Park, Presidio, Fort Point/Golden Gate Bridge, and Pacific Heights.

Where does the tour start and finish?

The tour starts and finishes in front of the Red and White Fleet terminal on Pier 43 ½ at Fisherman's Wharf.

What about pick-up?

We provide pick-up at convenient, main tourist locales:

Union Square: Southwest corner of Post Street and Powell Street directly next to the St. Francis hotel at 9:55 am.  There is a white bus loading zone on Post Street along the north side of the St. Francis.  The bus will be
parked there, and the guide will meet you at the corner of Post Street and Powell Street.
Nob Hill: In front of the Fairmont Hotel @ 950 Mason St (between California and Sacramento) at 10:10 am.
Fisherman’s Wharf: Trips depart Pier 43 ½ at 10:30 a.m. We request that you arrive there about 10 minutes before the tour departure to process payment, so we can leave at 10:30 am sharp.  We do not have a retail presence at this location, so you will see our bus pull up in front of the Red and White Fleet terminal.

Return service: San Francisco Movie Tours does not offer return service; however, our guide and driver can certainly offer directions and suggestions on how to get you to your next stop.  You may also want to plan on enjoying a late lunch on Fisherman’s Wharf after your tour.

How long is the tour?

The Tour is 3 hours long.

Will we stop along the way?

Your tour includes 2 breaks, each of which provides restroom facilities. Your first break is at San Francisco’s world class City Hall. Your second break takes you to the quintessential San Francisco movie location - Fort Point at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge - where Kim Novak leaps into the water at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge and Jimmy Stewart saves her in Vertigo.  We also have numerous photo stops along the way featuring famous San Francisco landmarks and movie locations, including North Beach’s Washington Square Park, Alamo Square/Painted Ladies, and Inspiration Point.

When does the tour start?

Throughout the year we offer one tour daily with a departure time of 10:30 am from Pier 43 ½ at Fisherman’s Wharf. We provide pick up at the following times (see location details above):

Union Square: 9:55 am
Nob Hill: 10:10 am

Please note that we do not return to these locations at the end of the tour.  The tour ends at Fisherman’s Wharf.

In July and August we plan to expand to our customary summer schedule of 2 daily tours; however, we will be offering this tours on an as-needed basis, so please review the tour calendar for afternoon tour dates.  The second tour will begin at 2:30 pm at Pier 43 ½ on Fisherman’s Wharf.  Please note that we do not offer any pick up locations for the 2:30 pm tour.

Where does the tour end?
